Technical glitch Hits Western Line
Mumbai | September 16, 2025 β
Mumbai’s famously efficient local train system hit a serious snag today as a technical glitch at Andheri station brought parts of the Western Railway line to a crawl. What began as a routine weekday commute turned into a nightmare for thousands of passengers after a point failure around 4:45 PM disrupted services during the evening rush.
π§ What Happened?
According to railway officials, a point failure occurred between the down fast and up slow lines at Andheri β a key mid-line hub that sees lakhs of passengers daily. This fault severely affected the switching mechanism, delaying both Churchgate-bound and outbound local trains.
